Carvajal Sostenibilidad

The beaches of the Colombian Pacific will never be the same again. With the support of Fundación Carvajal, we launched a process to turn Buenaventura into a large waste management center, so that the community can recover and use recyclable items such as disposable plastics, glass, cardboard and metals.

This platform:

  • Connects the towns of Buenaventura, Juanchaco, Ladrilleros, La Bocana, La Barra and Guapi.
  • Benefits 440,000 inhabitants of the area
  • Recovers more than 26 tons of waste per month.
  • It is an economic livelihood alternative for more than 220 families, including piangüeras, jaiberas, fishermen, displaced women heads of household and ecological recycling groups.
